In the middle of the 2nd century, in the Antonine period, a style of jewellery emerged in Britain from Celtic roots, the elements of which were distantly reminiscent of trumpets or curved signal horns.
The so-called trumpet ornament developed into a popular style of jewellery and the fashion spread throughout the empire with the British troops.

The original of our replica is a small brooch from the late 2nd century found in Dietzenbach, district of Offenbach, Germany.
